As someone who's already devoured the main series multiple times, I approached Homecoming with a mixture of excitement and cautious anticipation. Would it live up to the emotional resonance of the originals? The answer, thankfully, is a resounding yes, albeit with a few minor quibbles.

The novel cleverly re-examines pivotal moments from Ever's perspective, but this time through the eyes of the guys—Atlas, Rage, Rylie, and Rafe. Seeing their reactions, their struggles, and their individual journeys leading up to Ever's return is fascinating. It’s like getting a backstage pass to a performance you already know by heart, but this time you're privy to the actors' inner monologues and anxieties. The insights into their jobs at AtlasBlackbreak, previously only hinted at, were particularly compelling. Parmenter masterfully weaves together the familiar narrative with these new, enriching details, deepening the emotional connection we already have with these characters.

While I found myself skimming some of Ever's chapters, given my familiarity with the original series, I fully appreciated the context they provided for the guys' perspectives. My only real criticism is a minor one: I craved even more from the guys' point of view.
